Save Kerala: Here's How You Can Help

At a time when the southernmost state of India is in turmoil from the most devastating rainfall in the last 94 years, a lot has been said about the response of the Central Government and the adequacy of resources to help the state navigate this difficult time. Beyond the politics however, lives hang in the balance and the state needs help. Polemics & Pedantics urges everyone to contribute in any way they can towards the state. Below are some ways in which you can help.
Monetary Transfers
The Chief Minister has said that there is nothing that can help the state more than money. Like any Natural Disaster, autonomy in funding on local needs provided by hard cash is instrumental in ensuring the right stuff reaches the needy in time. Here are a few ways you can make monetary contributions.
Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund
Donations made under the CM Disaster Relief Fund are exempted from Income Tax as well as Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 2010, allowing virtually anyone to donate. The process is simple and secure. Fill the form with basic information and you will be redirected to an online gateway where payment can be made through Credit Card/Debit Card and Net Banking. Once the payment is complete, you can print your tax exemption certificate instantly as well.
Here's the link to the portal: https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in/
Donations can also be made to CMDRF through Cheque or Demand Draft. In order to do so, please send in the Cheque/DD addressed to
The Principal Secretary (Finance) Treasurer,
Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund,
Secretariat
Thiruvananthapuram - 695001
Payments to CMDRF can also be made through NEFT/Funds Transfer by sending in the amount to the following account.
Account number: 67319948232 Bank: State Bank of India Branch: City branch, Thiruvananthapuram IFS Code: SBIN0070028 PAN: AAAGD0584M Name of Donee: CMDRF
Non-Monetary Donations
Local authorities are also in need of certain other items for which requests are being made from time to time. The Control Room at Kannur has asked people to donate the following:
1) Cooking Utensils
2) Basic Household Items
3) Containers for storing rice and other food items
4) Footwear
5) Mugs and Buckets
These can be sent to from your place of residence or orders can be placed online for delivery at the following delivery address:
